چکیده

The quantitative steganalysis problem aims at estimating the amount of payload embedded inside a document. In this paper, JPEG images are considered, and by the use of a re-embedding based methodology, it is possible to estimate the number of original embedding changes performed on the image by a stego source and to slightly improve the estimation regarding classical quantitative steganalysis methods. The major advance of this methodology is that it also enables to obtain a confidence interval on this estimated payload. This confidence interval then permits to evaluate the difficulty of an image, in terms of steganalysis by estimating the reliability of the output. The regression technique comes from the OP-ELM and the reliability is estimated using linear approximation. The methodology is applied with publicly available stego algorithms, regression model and large databases of images. The methodology is generic and can be used for any quantitative steganalysis problem of this class.

In the history of human communication, the concept and need for secrecy between the parties has always been present. One way of achieving it is to modify the message so that it is readable only by the receiver, as in cryptography for example. Hiding the message in an innocuous medium is another, called steganography. And the counterpart to steganography, that is, discovering whether a message i...

Eigenvalues-based LSB steganalysis

So far, various components of image characteristics have been used for steganalysis, including the histogram characteristic function, adjacent colors distribution, and sample pair analysis. However, some certain steganography methods have been proposed that can thwart some analysis approaches through managing the embedding patterns. In this regard, the present paper is intended to introduce a n...

Multiple Masks Based Pixel Comparison Steganalysis Method for Mobile Imaging

Steganalysis has many challenges; which include the accurate and efficient detection of hidden content within digital images. This paper focuses on the development of a new multi pixel comparison method used for the detection of steganographic content within digital images transmitted over mobile channels. The sensitivity of detecting hidden information within a digital image can be increased o...

Steganalysis Method for LSB Replacement Based on Local Gradient of Image Histogram

In this paper we present a new accurate steganalysis method for the LSBreplacement steganography. The suggested method is based on the changes that occur in thehistogram of an image after the embedding of data. Every pair of neighboring bins of ahistogram are either inter-related or unrelated depending on whether embedding of a bit ofdata in the image could affect both bins or not. We show that...

Quantitative evaluation of pairs and RS steganalysis

We give initial results from a new project which performs statistically accurate evaluation of the reliability of image steganalysis algorithms. The focus here is on the Pairs and RS methods, for detection of simple LSB steganography in grayscale bitmaps, due to Fridrich et al. Using libraries totalling around 30,000 images we have measured the performance of these methods and suggest changes w...
